Information is used to:
RealPlate uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand general usage patterns – how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where they arrived from. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you to other websites. No personal data is collected, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
RealPlate records usage events, such as opening a recipe, swapping a meal or opening a shopping list, to help us understand which features are useful. These events use a temporary identifier to connect activity within the same browser tab. If you arrive through one of our tagged links, we also record its campaign labels so we can understand which posts bring people to the site. Nothing else from the link is kept. We do not include your name or email address in these usage events.
This is the same reason our fonts are stored on our own server rather than loaded from Google: we would rather your visit stayed between you and us.
RealPlate uses third-party services to operate the site and store feedback or sign-up information. RealPlate also links to external websites, such as supermarkets. These sites have their own policies, and RealPlate is not responsible for them.
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required for legal, security or administrative reasons.
RealPlate only sends update emails to people who have asked for them and then confirmed their address by clicking a link. Nothing is sent before that confirmation. The lawful basis for these emails is your consent.
You can withdraw that consent at any time. Every update email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately without needing to give a reason. You can also email hello@realplate.co.uk and it will be done for you. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything sent beforehand.
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data by contacting us. These rights apply in accordance with UK data protection law.
If you think your information has been handled incorrectly, you can raise it at hello@realplate.co.uk, and you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
