RealPlate is built to make weeknight cooking simpler – plan once, shop once, and cook real dinners all week.
Each Saturday a new week is ready: five dinners chosen for a mix of meal types and ingredients that work together. You can look at the weeks either side, but you never have to start from scratch.
Because the dinners share ingredients, packs get used across the week rather than bought twice.
Recipes are built around recognisable ingredients, clear steps and supermarket-friendly products.
They're designed to be tasty, satisfying weeknight meals, with carbs and vegetables included so there's nothing extra to plan.
Change the plan around real life. Swap a recipe for another, or keep a night flexible for leftovers, freezer food, takeaway or something quick – the shopping list and the total follow.
As you make changes, your plan, shopping list and total cost stay aligned.
Your shopping list is built from the meals you choose, using manually checked guide prices and product links.
RealPlate keeps cupboard items separate, so things you almost certainly already have — oil, salt, spices, garlic — don't inflate every weekly shop. Anything you'd actually put in the trolley, an onion included, is priced in the total.
The list also shows what will be left from each pack, with ideas for using it up.
How the prices work
RealPlate uses Tesco guide prices, not supermarket averages. Each ingredient is matched to a real Tesco product and the shopping list reflects the packs you would need to buy. Where a pack contains more than the recipes use, RealPlate shows what you'll have left.
We use standard shelf prices, rather than Clubcard prices or temporary promotions, so the totals aren't dependent on an offer that may have disappeared by the time you shop.
Prices are checked manually around once a month, and the last-checked date is always shown. They're intended as a realistic guide rather than a quote: prices, availability and pack sizes can change between shops and locations.
RealPlate is not affiliated with or endorsed by Tesco.
